Our New Home
This year has been an exciting year for the Kimmel family. After spending 10 months in Iceland, we moved literally to the other side of the world, to Okinawa, Japan. Even though moving is always a challenge, so far this has been a positive one. The summer months are a bit warm, but the people and culture are great. But even with the heat and humidity, we've spent more time outdoors since arriving in Okinawa than we did during our entire stay in Iceland!

In fact, I could easily say that Okinawa is the best place I've ever called "home." My school environment is excellent, my daughter Jessica is in a Japanese language pre-school, and my husband Paul has a room to set up as his art studio. And of course it doesn't hurt that the balcony of our apartment looks out over the East China Sea. The sunsets here are breathtaking, as you can see from the picture at the top of my page.
